If you don’t have time to read about Ikea’s new pet range, take a look at the short video above.

You know who loves animals? Ikea , that’s who.

In 2015, Ikea rolled out vegan meatballs in Australia – much to the delight of vegans and on vegans alike.

In 2016, Ikea introduced dog parking spots, designated spaces to leave you doggo designed to stop people leaving their dogs in hot cars where they can quickly overheat and die.

We’ve also known the brand is pet-friendly for some time, with a few simple hacks transforming Ikea into animal-friendly wonderlands.

Now the brand has done one better, introducing the LURVIG range, the new Ikea line for all our furry friends. The design team even worked with veterinarians to make sure our pets will receive optimum comfort.

LURVIG (Swedish for hairy), most of the slick, Scandinavian petware products are reimaginations of already existing Ikea products altered to become more pet-friendly.

The Ikea website explains:

“Have you ever felt like your cat or dog wasn’t just a pet, but a member of the family?”

“It’s exactly that focus that led IKEA to make the comprehensive LURVIG pet product range. Created by pet-loving designers with support from trained veterinarians, the range covers all the bases of our shared life with pets indoors and out, so you and your pet can enjoy your home together.”

BUT… there is one catch for those of us in Australia, we’ll have to wait.

LURVIG will be available in the US, Japan, Canada and France within the next month, with other stores receiving the range in 2018.

We can’t wait (but guess we’ll have to, sigh).
