Taking to Twitter, the Aussie songstress explained the motives behind her resignation, citing work and her latest posting on the New Zealand version of the show.

“I wanted you all to be the first to know that I won’t be returning to X Factor Aus this year. I am enjoying my time on X Factor NZ and I am super excited about the future,” the mother-of-two said.

Before adding her children’s clothing line is another venture she wants to focus on: “ChiKhi.co is going crazy and I have some exciting things in the pipeline that I can’t wait to share with you all. Watch this space!! With love and laughter Nat xx.”

Channel Seven have not confirmed who will replace the Rogue Traders singer but said the announcement would come “soon”.

It hasn’t taken long for the focus to shift to the other judges, with rumours swirling Redfoo is set to quit to amid his growing unpopularity with Aussie fans – particularly following his disastrous single release last year, Literally I Can’t, which outraged listeners and gave rise to an online petition to have him booted off the show.

The series of Tweets.

Earlier in the week Ronan Keating confirmed he won’t be coming back, telling The Sydney Confidential: “”I’ve had five great years working on an amazing show with a brilliant team of people.”

“But I’m working on a new solo album and different projects so I can’t make it back this year, sadly.”

So far Dannii Minogue is said to be returning when the show returns to the airwaves later this year.

Meanwhile, Natalie has been keeping busy on the Kiwi edition of the X-Factor franchise, after she was hurried in last month to replace husband-and-wife team Willy Moon and Natalia Kills, who were sacked after their brutal comments to one contestant went viral, causing global outrage.

In addition to her entertainment career, Natalie’s has her new project ChiKhi – a designer clothing range for stylish tots which she launched in February this year.

It seems there are no hard feelings between Nat and the Aussie show’s producers, as a tweet from the official X Factor account responded: “We miss you already Nat, thanks so much for so many good times.”

We can’t wait to see who Nat’s replacement will be!
