Prince Harry has made his dream of marrying his love, former actress Meghan Markle, come true, with their with the pair wedding in stylishly regal fashion at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19.

And while the former Suits actress may be in princess lessons ahead of what will be a lifetime of Royal duties, Harry’s Californian queen certainly doesn’t need a royal stylist to give her a Princess Diaries-inspired makeover. No, really – she has serious fashion credentials already.

From red-carpet showstoppers to sophisticated royal engagement ensembles, Meghan, 36, is bound to give Duchess Catherine and Pippa Middleton some friendly competition in the style-stakes.

Here we take a look at the royal-to-be’s finest fashion moments.

Not only was Meghan’s outfit for her first solo outing with sister-in-law Kate impossibly chic but might even have a hidden meaning. The Duchess wore a crisp button-down blue and white striped shirt and white wide-led pants from Ralph Lauren. In 2016, Meghan attended Wimbledon as a guest of the American label reportedly even when their mutual friend, Violet von Westenholz, told Meghan about Harry and Megan infamously asked “Is he nice?”. So Meghan was possibly wearing Ralph Lauren as love letter/outfit to her husband. Swoon!

Meghan stunned in this Givenchy paintsuit, reminding us all of the pre-wedding Meghan we came to know and love. The Duchess paired this iconic outfit with a $59 shirt by Lavender Hill, a Givenchy belt, Givenchy bag, and Sarah Flint heels.

To her visit with the Irish president, Meghan wore a light grey dress with an asymmetrical hemline by designer Rouland Mouret, very similar to the navy blue dress she wore by the same designer the night before her wedding. Meghan also wore Birks earrings, Paul Andrew pumps and a Fendi top-handle bag.

Meghan surprisingly reconciled with Emilia Wickstead, after her comments regarding the wedding dress, for her second look in Ireland wearing a custom dress by the British designer. Meghan paired the sleeveless fitted black dress with Birks Citrine Diamond Drop earrings Aquazurra pumps (the same brand she wore to her wedding), and a clutch by Givenchy.

For her arrival in Ireland, Meghan appropriately wore a two-piece dark green piece by Givenchy (who else!), a top-handle tote by Strathberry, Paul Andrew pumps and Vanessa Tugendhaft earrings looking every much the part of a modern royal.

The Duchess of Sussex stunned in this black custom Dior dress at the RAF 100th anniversary celebrations. Meghan accessorised her favoured bateau neckline dress with a small black clutch and nude pumps, also by Dior, and a black fascinator by Stephen Jones. Simply divine!

Meghan seemingly missed the light blue/pastel/cream memo to Prince Louis’ Christening opting to wear an olive green Ralph Lauren outfit instead. However, there was apparently a secret meaning behind this outfit that makes us love the Duchess of Sussex even more! Meghan’s waist was cinched with a thin belt, while she rocked a stunning pair of olive-toned Manolo Blahnik suede pumps (surprise-surpise). She completed by wearing a fascinator created by her milliner of choice, Stephen Jones.

Meghan who up until this point had only been wearing neutral colours post the wedding, threw a curve ball with her canary yellow dress. Perhaps in a nod to her motherland’s 4th of July celebrations, she chose to wear American designer Brandon Maxwell’s creation to the Your Commonwealth Youth Challenge reception at Marlborough House in London. She accessorised the high, straight neckline, no sleeves and shin-grazing hem dress with her now iconic Manolo Blank ‘BB Pumps’ in nude suede and a pair of diamond earrings by Adina Reyter, looking a dream from head to toe.

Powder pink in Prada! Meghan Markle looks as royal as she does sophisticated in this cinched-at-the-waist, buttoned dress at the Queen’s Young Leaders Awards reception at Buckingham Palace. While Meghan looks polished-to-Prada-perfection, we are quietly missing Meghan’s ever-so-gently bohemian royal style that she sported pre-wedding. Just saying.

Oh my… Meghan! Structured and formal – and we’re not just talking about Meghan’s post-wedding posture and poise – the Duchess of Sussex sported an angular, capped, ladylike Givenchy dress for her first solo event with the Queen in Cheshire. Meghan clearly loves the luxury French designer, having worn Givenchy on her wedding day.

It seems that Meghan loves buttoned-pink dresses, with the former actress taking to Buckingham Palace’s balcony in this boat-neck frock for the very first time at Trooping The Colour. This custom-made Carolina Herrera dress could only be outshone by her matching modern Philip Treacy hat.

Stepping out with Prince Harry to a memorial service to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the murder of Stephen Lawrence, Meghan wore a demure black Hugo Boss dress cinched in at the waist with a metallic buckle. She paired the chic ensemble with nude heels and a matching clutch.

The 36-year-old looked the picture of royal sophistication as she, with her fiance Prince Harry, met with delegates of the Commonwealth Youth Forum wearing a black and white striped dress by New York-based brand Altuzarra, a black blazer by Australian designer Camilla and Marc and a stripped cross-body bag from Aussie fashion stalwart Oroton.

During a surprise visit to Northern Ireland the royal-to-be opted for midi skirt by Greta Constantine which she accented the forrest green number with a cream Victoria Beckham sweater, Mackage coat, Charlotte Elizabeth bag, and brown velvet pumps.

While visiting Edinburgh, Scotland Meghan gave a subtle nod to the country when she wore a gorgeous tartan Burberry coat and a bottle-green leather handbag from local brand Strathberry, which is now sold out. Shop identical (and more affordable) bags here!

When Meghan and Harry stopped in on the radio studios of Reprezent 107.3 FM in Brixton, South London, the royal-to-be showed off her style credentials, yet again. The former Suits actress was a vision in a camel coat by Smythe, black Burberry trousers, paired with an Autograph sweater by highstreet fave Marks & Spencer and topped with a Jigsaw scarf.

Meghan’s envy-inspiring, long shimmering locks were swept up into a perfectly messy bun for the occasion. The 36-year-old complemented her stunning engagement ring with fine-line earrings and a pair of fine rings on her right hand.

Meghan made a very stylish Sandringham for the annual Christmas service, donning a camel coat by Sentaler teamed with a brown hat and matching brown boots and a Chloe ‘Pixie’ bag.

Proving she has princess perfection down pat, Meghan’s hair was impeccably blow dried showing off her shiny tresses.

Designed by British-based Australian couturiers Ralph & Russo, the gown worn by Meghan for her official engagement photographs sold out online as soon as pictures of Meghan wearing it hit the web.

While many adored Meghan’s sheer gown, others said it was ‘racy’ and ‘broke royal protocol’.

Meghan and Harry’s first official public engagement as a couple, saw the stunning brunette embracing clean-lined basics in the most sopohisficated way. The ensemble selected by her friend and stylist Jessica Mulroney included double-breasted navy coat over a black, high-necked knit tucked into a structured tan skirt. The bag Meghan was carrying, a tote by Strathberry, sold out in 11 minutes flat!

Shortly after celebrating her Royal engagement to Prince Harry at the official royal photocall, bride-to-be Meghan Markle’s white coat by Canadian brand LINE sold out — and caused the designer’s website to crash.

Classic off-duty style. For her first “official” outing with beau Prince Harry, Meghan wore an over-sized white shirt, nipped in at the front with a perfect tuck into a pair of cropped at the ankle jeans. Don’t think we didn’t notice that very un-royal rip at the knee and frayed hems – she’s not a princess yet, so she can do what she wants.

There was no denying that Meghan was having a ball cheering on her boyfriend Prince Harry as he opened his beloved 2017 Invictus Games at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The glossy brunette stunned in a mulberry pleated dress and matching leather jacket by the brand Mackage. We have a feeling berry-hued leather jackets are about to become very popular.

Meghan is a fan of a leather jacket. Here she wore a cropped biker jacket with embellished studded sleeves over a pretty white dress to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2014.

If Meghan is to become a royal one day (and we can only hope!) she will have to get used to wearing palace-favoured pastels and demure pale tones. Luckily, she looks fantastic in a dusty pink, as seen here at a World Vision event in 2016.

Meghan knows that a deep ox-blood red is one of “her colours”. Here she demonstrates just how to look chic, polished and ready for anything in a simple top, pants and blazer ensemble. Perfect!
