This mum, 52, and daughter, 20, prove dressing your age is nothing more than a myth

They often share their wardrobes - and look good doing it.

There’s 32 years between them but Dawn Cutler and daughter Emilie prove “dressing your age” is nothing more than nonsense. Many outfits can look good on a person no matter which decade you were born in.

The fashion-obsessed mum-and-daughter write the blog The Posh Rock which targets women aged 40 to 60 and aims to empower them to be fearless when it comes to fashion, not defined by a number.

As the blog’s tagline states: Fashion is ageless.

“I’ve often found myself asking the question… ‘Is it okay for someone my age to wear this?’ But why are we asking ourselves this? Surely we have the right to wear what we want at any age?” Dawn writes.

She tells Femail her and fashion-student daughter Emilie often wear the same outfit to an event, although styled slightly differently, and regularly swap clothes.

In fact Dawn doesn’t feel embarrassed or inappropriate about wearing clothing deemed for ‘young people’ at all, including leather biker jackets, bodycon dresses and anything with a shorter hemline.

“Many women of my age are nervous about being bolder in their fashion choices and find it hard to overcome their insecurities when it comes to what other people think,” she says.

However the overwhelming response to their blog has been a positive one.

“We’ve had some amazingly positive responses and encouragement from the over forties who think it’s great that there’s someone actively championing the cause; shining a spotlight on an age group that is often still neglected in the fashion industry.”

Too right. Major kudos from us.
