Ever since Home And Away released their 2018 teaser, we’ve been speculating over the face belonging to the infamous ‘Blood & Sand’ tattoo with eager anticipation. And FINALLY at least one of our questions has been answered.

The actor’s name is Patrick O’Connor and he’s set to cause quite a stir very soon as Summer Bay’s newest River Boy.

Patrick recently spoke to The Sunday Telegraph and revealed: “This is my first role.”

The Brisbane-based star has spent recent years auditioning for various roles after graduating from the Queensland University of Technology where he studied acting.

The new role is sure to be a big step for the young actor as he follows in the footsteps of ex-River Boy, Steve Peacocke (who played Darryl Braxton), who is now based in LA.

Patrick spoke about tackling his new gig: “Home And Away is obviously known as a launch pad for many ¬actors’ careers. Obviously going into the type of role that this is, being a River Boy and there being a story there already that is so big and well known, it means there is a legacy there to play around with and being a bad boy on the show is exciting.”

As for his character on the show, we’re still unsure who he is, who he’s related to or why he’s turned up in the Bay. But we’re guessing it’s going to cause some serious D-R-A-M-A.

Home And Away returns Monday, January 29.
