If Frasier is a yes, does that mean there’s hope for Cheers too…

The stars of Frasier

Ever wondered what your favourite Frasier characters are up to now? So does Kelsey Grammer, who played Dr. Frasier Crane on Cheers, and of course, starred in the spin-off series Frasier.

Speaking to TV WEEK, Kelsey admits that he has many ideas as to what Dr. Frasier Crane would be up to today, and believes that a reboot of the series could be possible.

“We are discussing a little bit what a Frasier re-run would look like,” Kelsey tells TV WEEK. “It would never be a full blown sort of picking up the series again, it would just be maybe as a look at what happened to him now,” he says.

As far as plotlines, Kelsey has it sorted.

“I like the idea that he left Seattle to go to Chicago and be with Laura Linney and of course he got there and blew that too,” Kelsey laughs.

Laura Linney played Frasier’s love interest Charlotte Conner on the series.

“So he did not find love with her and he is a mess and maybe he is some sort of weird performance artist now,” he adds. “But if we did that, it would probably be to launch some kind of different show that I wouldn’t be in.”

As for Cheers, Kelsey isn’t ruling out a potential revival, though perhaps it wouldn’t be a full series.

“Well in a quite practical sense Cheers might be fun to do as a one-off, to see where the hell they all are now, because everybody would be a little long in the tooth now,” he says. “But we do think about it although I don’t know if anybody in the higher echelon has given it any serious thought.”

We’d love to see what the gang are up to these days! The ball is in your court Kelsey, we’ll take more Frasier and Cheers if we can get it!
