They scare because they don't care.

It’s a good news day for fans of American Horror Story. The anthology series has just been renewed for two more seasons, taking it up to nine in total.

The announcement was made by the FX Network at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour this week.

American Horror Story launched the modern limited series revolution and — as evidenced by the most recent installment, Roanoke — it remains as vital today as when Murder House stunned audiences six years ago,” FX CEO John Landgraf said. “We are thrilled that [executive producers] Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and the entire creative team will continue to deliver the groundbreaking, celebrated American Horror Story for years to come.”

Actress Sarah Paulson has just been signed on to the seventh season, alongside Evan Peters. Sarah, who has been nominated five times for her work on AHS, recently picked up her first Golden Globe for her role as Marcia Clark in OJ v The People: American Crime Story.

In an effort to keep season seven’s plotline under wraps, Ryan Murphy says that with the exception of himself, very few people know about.

“There are only three people in the world who know what [the new season is about],” he said. “And that’s FX CEO John Landgraf, [studio executive] Dana Walden, and Sarah Paulson. But I just started writing it, I haven’t even cast it yet — except for Sarah and Evan. It’s a modern-day story. That’s all I can say.”

While theres been no confirmation as to whether the series will end after nine seasons, we’re hoping the producers will still have plenty of spooky stories left to keep us hooked.
