It appears Shane Warne has been bowled over by another Aussie beauty.
The cricket star couldn’t contain his happiness when he was spotted on a dinner date with Sophie Monk in the upmarket London suburb of Knightsbridge last week.
And it appears the flirty sports star has had his eye on her for a while. The pair have stayed in touch ever since he joined her on Sydney’s 2DayFM’s breakfast show, which she co-hosts with Jules Lund, Mel B and Merrick Watts.
“I’m very single at this stage, so is she single?” Shane asked at the time.
An equally flirty Sophie, 34, was just as forth coming.
“Oh, Warnie, my mum would be so happy if we hooked up,” Sophie said.“You got hotter with age. You’re such an inspiration to Australians – you have no idea.”
Shane, who has been dating bikini model Emily Scott in recent months, took Sophie out to the Ciro’s Pizza Pomodoro for a romantic dinner, with the couple stepping outside for a cigarette – and a kiss! – chatting and laughing, with no signs of first-date awkwardness.
While Sophie appeared slightly nervous once the couple began gaining some attention on the street, an attentive Shane placed his guiding hand on the small of Sophie’s back to guide her. The couple later returned to a flash hotel in the neighbourhood.
The pair seem like the perfect match, both having a complicated romantic history, and appeared to hit it off during their radio interview.
“Sophie is extremely hot, isn’t she?” the father of three remarked. “She seems like a wonderful person, too.”
Sophie has previously been engaged to Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden and millionaire Jimmy Esebag, both relationships ending before the wedding day.
More recently, she briefly dated Hollywood star Sam Worthington,who is now smitten with bikini model Lara Bingle, admitting it “really hurts” to see photographs of the incredibly loved-up couple.
Before her secret date with Shane, Sophie also admitted she had turned to dating app Tinder to help her find a man.
While Sophie didn’t want to comment on her relationship with Shane, a representative of hers confirmed she and Shane are “friends”. One thing’s for sure – she’s definitely his type!
