The seasoned Australian actress opens up about her mum Shirley and gives her tips for looking your best.

Speaking to The Weekly, the 49-year-old star of Packed To The Rafters and Channel Seven’s new mystery-drama, The Killing Field, says her mother, Shirley, was a driving influence in her life.

“Mum was probably my biggest role model. She did an extraordinary job to raise six children,” the Gold Logie winner says.

“She certainly encouraged me in the early years of my career and taught me to make the most of every opportunity.

“There is not a day that goes by that I am not grateful for her and all that she has done and continues to do for me and those around her.”

Stepping out at the Logie Awards last month in a stunning Steven Khalil gown, the accomplished actress and ambassador for skincare brand Olay looked super fit and healthy.

She says she lost a few kilograms and now has a holistic approach to health and beauty, combining yoga and walking.

“We need to take care of our inside as much as the outside,” she says.

“Mum introduced me to Olay in my teens, but she also taught me that beauty comes from within.”

Despite being away from her mum on Sunday for Mother’s Day, Rebecca says they share a special bond – and Shirley agrees.

“Rebecca and I have always been very close and I am tremendously proud of all her achievements, as I am of all my children,” Shirley says. “She really is true beauty inside and out.”
