Last month, it was confirmed to People magazine that the couple, who have been together for two years, welcomed a healthy baby boy named Lars Gerard Gibson on Friday, January 20 in LA.

While this is Mel and 26-year-old Rosalind’s first child together, Lars will be joining a big family of loving siblings.

The Braveheart star already has seven children from his 28-year marriage to ex-wife Robyn Moore.

Following their split in 2011, Mel went on to briefly date Oksana Grigorieva, and they share a seven-year-old daughter called Lucia.

“He’s great, he’s growing, he’s eating like a little pig and is doing just great,” Mel recently revealed to Mario Lopez of his new bundle of joy.

Lars sure is his father’s son!

The 61-year-old director recently joked he was more than ready for the challenge of another newborn.

“What’s one more? I’m just there to catch. I’m too old to get nervous. I think my adrenals are worn out so I don’t even react anymore,” Mel quipped to Extra.

As for his romance with former equestrian star Rosalind, Mel tells his critics age is nothing more than a number.

“Regarding age and relationships, it’s just a number. We dig each other,” he revealed to The Mirror.

“It might cause a problem and one has a trepidation about these things, but it’s working out great.”
