Johnny Ruffo thanks fans for support following surgery for brain tumour

Last week Johnny Ruffo took to social media to share the shocking news that he had recently undergone surgery to have a brain tumour removed.

“On Sunday I went into hospital with a migraine,” Johnny told TV WEEK. “I had to have emergency surgery to have a brain tumour removed. I am on the mend and feeling positive. Keep me in your thoughts.”

He uploaded some graphic images of the procedure to Instagram writing, “Some things in life really put things into perspective, hoping for a positive result, keep me in your thoughts x”.

Yesterday, Johnny’s girlfriend Tahnee Sims shared a photo of the couple showing Johnny’s impressive scar.

Today Johnny posted a photo on the way to the doctors.

“Thank you to everyone for all the support over the last week, off to the docs with my mums, keeping positive,” he wrote.

The former Home And Away actor and X Factor Australia star has been flooded with support from family, friends and fans since sharing the distressing news.

The Project co-host and devoted brain cancer campaigner Carrie Bickmore shared a message of support to Johnny via Instagram writing, “Devastating news for Johnny Ruffo. Thinking of you mate during this scary time.”

Carrie introduced her Beanies 4 Brain Cancer initiative during her Logies acceptance speech in 2015 and has since gone on to raise millions of dollars for brain cancer research.

Many of Johnny’s former Home And Away co-stars have also reached out to Johnny.

“Sending u all my love and Prayers Johnny,” Ada Nicoudemou wrote.

“Love and support to my friend and Home and Away co-star Johnny Ruffo, I hope you make a speedy recovery mate…” Kyle Pryor tweeted.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Australia’s Kris Smith also commented on Johnny’s post writing, “Be thinking about you and sending positive vibes.”
