Russel Crowe might have just revealed some big news – Ed Sheeran and his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn might be secretly engaged!
The Gladiator actor, 53, let slip the secret while discussing his surprisingly close bond with the British singer on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa radio program on Friday.
“We became friends through people we know and he was on tour and came to stay,” says Russell. “We just became friendly and he has since come back with his fiancée for more time and stuff.” Notice the use of fiancée? Secret engagement? We think yes!

Ed, 26, and hockey star Cherry, 25, have been dating since early 2015 and now it seems like a wedding might be on the cards for these two. Ed is keeping tight lipped about the comment, but since Rusty he and Rusty are good mates, it’s possible Ed confided in him about the big news. We sure hope so!
And since he’s on the TMI train, Rusty also shared how he introduced Ed to his own alcoholic concoction which helps to keep hangovers at bay, thanks to its high water content. Lucky for us, the star revealed that it’s a mix of ice, water, Silver Patron and passionfruit.
It must be nice because apparently the two them finished off an entire bottle of tequila together. Hmm, maybe Ed told Rusty about his engagement over a few drinks…
Although, the drink didn’t go down too well for Ed the second time round.
“I saw Ed in London [recently] and he said, ‘Man, you got me in so much trouble,'” Russell reveals. “So he makes the drink – but he forgets all about the water.”
“His security guy tells him, ‘Last night you took your shoes off in the restaurant and licked a woman’s face,” Russell adds. “I was like, ‘Ed, the principal message I was passing on was the hydration.'”
On second thought, we might lay off that drink…
