With less than four months left in the countdown to genetic perfection, George Clooney is finally speaking out about Amal Clooney’s pregnancy.
During an interview on the French program Rencontres de Cinema George spoke with film journalist Laurent Weil about becoming a dad.
“We are really happy and really excited. It’s going to be an adventure,” he said smiling broadly.
“We’ve sort of embraced it all…with arms wide open.”
George and Amal’s twins are expected to arrive in June.
He also explained how his “very supportive friends,” many of whom are already parents to children in their teens, reacted to the 55-year-old actor and first-time dad’s exciting news.
“It got really quiet, and they all just started making baby crying noises,” he recalled. “And the whole table just busted up laughing.”
In case you missed it, one week after Beyoncé and Jay Z revealed that they’re expecting twins, George and Amal stepped in to prove that genetically unique children are totally on-trend… announcing that they too are expecting twins.
And thanks to the adorably loose lips of George Clooney’s mum, we now know that the stunning duo are expecting a boy AND a girl.
Baby whispers have surrounded the duo for months, as the Lebanese-British lawyer was seen to swap her usually form-fitting style for looser fitting garments.
Amal’s blossoming baby bump was first spotted as the couple attended a special Netflix screening of The White Helmets.
“It will be one of each! Yes, a boy and a girl. That’s what I’ve been told,” George’s mother, Nina Clooney, recently revealed while speaking with US Vogue.
She added: “How marvellous! My husband and I are extremely excited.”
But when it comes to baby names, Nina explained that she’s been kept in the dark. “I haven’t been told their names,” she explained. “That is George and Amal’s department.”
Unlike Queen Bey, the Hollywood couple decided to announce their joyous baby news indirectly.
Julie Chen, Amal’s close friend and host of popular US show The Talk, was the first to confirm the increasingly-loud baby whispers that surrounded the stunning couple. She said, “Beyoncé is not the only superstar expecting twins. Congratulations are in order for George and Amal Clooney!”
The American TV personality added that 39-year-old human rights lawyer is due in June, which leaves us with only four months to prepare ourselves for genetic perfection.
