The mother of Bachelorette star Georgia Love, Belinda Love has died following a six month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 60.
A heartbroken Georgia broke the news with a post on Instagram late last night.
“There is so much more I need and want to share with you. I have no idea how to even begin to say goodbye. I love you, Mum, and will continue to every single day.”
“If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever,” Georgia’s beautiful tribute concluded.
Belinda’s death comes just days after her daughter declared she had fallen in love with Lee Elliott on the latest series of the reality show.
This week after the show wrapped, Elliott said he was finally able to meet Belinda. “It meant a lot to me to be there, and I could see how much it meant to Georgia,” Lee told Woman’s Day.
“I feel so blessed. I wish our meeting had been in different circumstances, but that first moment was something that will stay with me forever.”
Lee said that despite having a tough battle ahead Belinda managed to keep her humour.
“There was one moment when she looked at me and said ‘I didn’t think Georgia would pick you,’ and I was like, ‘this is awkward! But then she said ‘No, no, only because you were my favourite and Georgia never picks my favourite,” Lee said.
Lee also took to Instagram a few days ago to share a sweet picture of Georgia and her mother, as well as say he was dedicated to being there for his partner and her family at this difficult time.
“You are my everything and my world! But at the same time I could not be any more saddened by what you and your family are going through right now,” Lee wrote.
“It most certainly puts everything else into perspective and has only reiterated just how much I absolutely want to be there for you and be your rock as you have been mine today and always!
“I feel truly blessed to have finally been able to meet the absolutely extraordinary woman who is your mother,” he continued. “I can certainly now see where your strength, love for life, sense of humour and beauty both inside and out come from!”
At the start of the show, Georgia said she was looking for a love that could emulate her parents’ relationship, a marriage which has spanned over 30 years.
