Last week, the world was left gobsmacked when one of Hollywood’s strongest couples, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt announced they were splitting up.

For the first time since sharing their news, the beloved actress is thanking her fans for all their support.

“Hey dear listeners, I just want to thank you all so much for all the love I’ve been receiving, and I truly love you,” Anna said in her Unqualified podcast.

The pair announced it was over on August 6th.

In the same episode, the star also answered a question for a woman struggling with her boyfriend and one of his co-workers.

“Don’t be afraid of the future. You’re young. You’re in L.A.,” Anna said.

“There’s a lot of amazing people out there. Don’t feel afraid to feel your independence if things aren’t right.”

She went on to share a story about herself.

“I made that mistake, I think, a little bit feeling like, ‘I’m checking my relationship off the list,’ and, um – the final advice I could give you would be know your worth, know your independence, know that you’re young, and there’s so many people out there,” she continued.

“There’s so much life experience. I hope you get to live it all and experience a whole lot of people. Life is too short for you to be in relationships where you’re not feeling like this isn’t fully right or somebody doesn’t have your back or somebody doesn’t value you in every way.”

The pair are still living together.

Meanwhile, Chris, 38, made his first speech following the news of his break up on Sunday, at the Teen Choice Awards.

Picking up the award for Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor, he said: “Wow. Thank you! I love you, too. Thank you! What an honour and a privilege to be here at the Teen Choice Awards.”

“When I came to Los Angeles, I came from Hawaii and I had all of this blonde hair and I was tan and I met an agent because I really wanted to be an actor and get an agent and he said, ‘Wow. Bro you must surf?’ And I said ‘Yeah’ and that was the first of many lies I told to get where I am today. Thank you.”

Before adding, “I would not be here with the ease and grace I have in my heart without my lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.”

On August 6th, Chris and Anna announced in a joint statement that they were calling it a day after eight years of marriage.

“We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward,” the statement read.

“We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.”

Anna, who shares her four-year-old son Jack with Chris, confessed that having a relationship in the spotlight does have its difficulties.

The mum-of-one candidly spoke on the matter in one of the episodes of her podcast.

“My long-distance relationship with Chris, I wouldn’t describe it as that, but we do spend a lot of time apart,” she mused.

“But the advantage of that is it makes you so appreciate the time you have together, and you really, really value that. … And you don’t want to waste it fighting, and you know, like, all the minutiae. It’s a high price to pay, you know, but it is a benefit. A silver lining.”
